Case Study
SaaS
Designing a guided onboarding experience that simplifies campaign creation, reduces friction, and helps users launch LinkedIn outreach campaigns with confidence.
Visual system

Project overview
ReachBoost helps sales teams automate LinkedIn outreach by creating campaigns with personalized connection requests and follow-up messages. Although the platform offered powerful functionality, new users often struggled to understand the setup process and configure campaigns correctly.
The goal of this project was to redesign the onboarding flow into a clear step-by-step experience that reduces friction, guides users through campaign creation, and increases the likelihood of launching a successful campaign.

User Experience
Challenge
New users were confronted with many settings before understanding how campaigns worked. Important configuration options were spread across different screens, making it difficult to know what information was required and what could be configured later.
The challenge was to simplify the onboarding without removing flexibility for experienced users. The solution also needed to support different campaign types while keeping the experience intuitive.
Goals
Reduce onboarding friction
Guide users through campaign creation
Increase completion rate
Simplify complex configuration
Reduce cognitive load
Improve usability through progressive disclosure
Create a scalable onboarding flow
Research
The project started with discussions with the founder and internal stakeholders to understand where users abandoned the onboarding process.
Existing user feedback, support requests and product behaviour were analysed to identify the biggest usability issues.
The research showed that users mainly struggled with understanding campaign settings, message sequencing and required inputs.
Based on these insights, the onboarding was redesigned into a guided wizard with logical steps, contextual help and clear progress indicators.
Process
The design process consisted of multiple iterative phases.
Discovery
I organised workshops with several municipalities to understand differences in content structure, priorities and existing search behaviour.
Analysis
Using existing analytics, user feedback and stakeholder input, I mapped the complete search journey and identified the largest friction points.
Ideation
Multiple concepts were explored around search hierarchy, filter behaviour, search suggestions and empty states. Early concepts were reviewed with stakeholders before moving into high-fidelity designs.
Validation
Interactive prototypes were tested internally and discussed with municipal stakeholders. Feedback was continuously incorporated into new iterations to improve clarity and usability.
